At the end of the road, and everything begins
Half an hour's drive from Oppdal to the west, and located in the center of Storlidalen, you will find Bortistu Gjestegard, surrounded by a breathtaking mountain range. Here you can turn back the time, find inner peace and just enjoy the tranquil surroundings.
This is where you come if you want to live as close to both nature and history as possible. Bortistu Gjestegard is located at the bottom of Trollheimen mountain range. You will find a myriad of well-marked hiking trails, both in winter and in summer. Guests have found their way to Bortistu Gjestegard since the 1880s. The farm has been in the family's possession for the past century, and food and board have been central ever since.
The food is made with soul and lots of local produce. Their speciality is Basstu (sauna) smoked leg of lamb, which can also be bought to take home with you.
The bedrooms, all from different eras, have charm and soul. Accommodation capacity is 26 rooms, or 70 beds. There is a dining area with a maximum capacity of 110 people in the unique Fjøset (old barn). The farms unique history surrounds you in the photo gallery and exhibitions located throughout Bortistu.
In addition to accommodation and food for the visiting tourists, Bortistu Gjestegard also has on offer custommade courses, seminars, meetings and other business gatherings.
Welcome - be our guest!
