At the end of the Storlidalen valley, where the road ends and the mountain adventure begins, lies Bortistu Gjestegard. Since the late 1800s, guests have come here for tranquility, recreation, and hearty meals, surrounded by the majestic nature of Trollheimen.
Accommodation
Bortistu offers a wide range of accommodations in historic buildings dating back to the 1600s. From intimate cabins for two guests to large houses accommodating up to 23 people, the property offers a total of 77 beds spread across 29 rooms and 2 lofts. All units include bed linens, towels, and final cleaning. Four of the houses are fully equipped for self-catering—ideal for those who prefer to prepare their own meals. Alternatively, guests can enjoy award-winning local dishes served by the hosts in the on-site restaurant “Fjøset.”
Event Venues
For special occasions such as weddings, anniversaries, or corporate meetings, Bortistu offers charming and atmospheric event spaces. The restaurant “Fjøset” can accommodate up to 100 guests at long tables and serves seasonal menus based on local ingredients.
