Cross-country stadium in the middle of Oppdal

Oppdal Skistadion
Just 3 km northeast of Oppdal town center, you will find Oppdal Skistadion, a state-of-the-art facility perfect for both biathlon and cross-country skiing. The stadium is renowned for its excellent biathlon range and extensive network of ski trails stretching over 4 km.
As soon as winter arrives and the temperatures remain consistently below freezing, snow production begins to ensure good skiing conditions throughout the entire facility. The opening date varies each year depending on the weather, but it's not uncommon for the ski season to start as early as November.
The trail network at Oppdal Skistadion is well-organized and marked with various loops indicating their distance. The longest loop is 4 km, with 3.3 km of it being illuminated, allowing for evening skiing. The tracks are groomed as needed to maintain high quality throughout the season. Additionally, the stadium features a shooting range with 30 targets, making it an ideal venue for biathletes.
Christin Gjønnes, head of the Ski Group at Oppdal Sports Club, highlights one of the major advantages of Oppdal Skistadion: "In many places, you have to drive half an hour to reach the stadium. In Oppdal, it's barely a 5-minute drive between the facility and accommodation," she says. Oppdal Sports Club is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the ski stadium.
