Magalaupet Camping – In the Heart of Nature, at the Gateway to Dovrefjell
Located about 12 kilometers south of Oppdal, along the Driva River and the unique potholes at Magalaupet, Magalaupet Camping offers a scenic and peaceful base for exploring Dovrefjell National Park. Accommodation and Facilities
The campsite offers pitches for caravans, motorhomes, and tents, along with 10 self-catering cabins. Choose from simple huts or fully equipped four-star cabins with two bedrooms, living room, kitchenette, bathroom, loft, and veranda – all with running water.
Shared facilities include modern restrooms, two communal kitchens and laundry rooms, a cozy TV lounge, café with play area, art gallery at reception, barbecue area, and a small playground for children.
Experiences and Activities
Magalaupet is an excellent starting point for musk ox safaris. Ask the friendly staff to help you book an experienced local guide for a safe and memorable encounter with these majestic animals. Hiking and winter activities in nearby Dovrefjell are also easily accessible.
How to get there
Follow the E6 south from Oppdal and look for signs to Magalaupet Camping – easily accessible by car and well marked.
