Get inspired

The generous mountains of Oppdal stretch from Dovrefjell in the south to Trollheimen in the north, and they serve every season with new highlights. The mountain village has a long tradition of winter sports. The vast and easily accessible mountain areas have made Oppdal into Mid- Norway’s most popular winter destination.

Here you can go skiing in Norway’s largest lift-area, or enjoy the silence of the mountains covered with untouched snow. The cross-country skiers have a large network of trails to choose from, with miles of miles of groomed trails in the mountains. The winter is long, often overlapping spring. A typical spring scenario in Oppdal is that you can go skiing one day and take your bike out for a ride on the next.

Summer and fall give new highlights through a variated network of trails. Our trail-builders - 45 000 sheep on pasture, makes sure that the trails are maintained to nothing less than world class. Biking, running, short hikes or longer hikes. Fishing and picking berries. The mighty mountains surrounding us invite you, whether you are a family with small children, an adventurer or just a hedonist.

In the mountains, you may also need other types of refill. The regions largest trade center offers a variety of stores, boutiques, cafeterias, and restaurants. Try our local cuisine, go see a movie, visit the spa or take a swim at the aquatic center. In the town center of Oppdal, you will find everything you need for a comfortable stay.

As our guest, you will also find that Oppdal is a dynamic town where traditions of farming, crafts and the slate industry are important. From our long traditions and culture, new ideas and industries are nurtured.

Oppdal- an exciting destination all year round.
