Enjoying a lunch out in Trondheim

Trondheim has a broad selection of restaurants and cafés. Here are a few tips to find lunch menus with that little extra.

Baklandet Skydsstation, Bakklandet

In an old wooden building dating from the 18th century, you will discover one of Trondheim’s cosiest cafés, Baklandet Skydsstation. All the food is home-cooked and, for many of the dishes, you can choose between a main course and a light meal. Baklandet Skydsstation is especially renowned for its Danish herring table and klapp-kak (a local sandwich). The café also bakes its own gluten-free bread. The floor slants and the furniture squeaks, but this just adds to the charm at Skydsstationen.
