Best friends Mora and González have been to the Olympic city of Lillehammer for work. During their four day visit they also seized the opportunity to discover Norwegian nature and the nearby capital, Oslo.

What has surprised you the most about Norway?
“Well, the Norwegians we have met or worked with, seem pleasantly open-minded and low-key. You can approach anyone here. When attending a ceremony in Lillehammer, we got quite close to the King and the Crown Prince, who both made a straightforward, down to earth impression. It was almost like being among friends.”

What is the main difference between people in Mexico and people in Norway?
“Mexicans talk a lot more. Norwegians are far more quiet and shy, or maybe they are just polite.”

You are sport event organisers: did you do some outdoor activities yourself?
“We had one day off from working, and we spent it in the alpine center of Hafjell. This turned out to be a great day in beautiful surroundings.”

Any other successful sport experiences?
“Actually, we got to try curling and must admit that it is much more difficult than what it seems.”

Having travelled to several places, how do you find public transport in Norway?
“It is in fact very accurate. We jumped on a brand new train from Lillehammer to Oslo, which turned out to be both fast and comfortable. On board the train, we were pleased to find free internet and charging possibilities, both of high importance to us.” Read more about travelling by train

Any strange experiences in Norway?
“Oh, yes: Eating cod for dinner. It’s just a type of fish we're used to back home. Here it’s everywhere.” Read more about food traditions in Norway.

Did you eat something you liked?
“We like the Norwegian brown cheese, Brunost. It is surprisingly similar to our Cajeta, a delicious Mexican caramel sauce that we put on almost anything.”

What will you tell your friends in Mexico about Norway?
“To visit in the summer, as they are not at all used to snow and low temperatures. Or, maybe they would love to be embraced by the endless whiteness of the winter season.”

This is your first time in Norway: When will you come back?
“In the summertime, to cruise the fjords.” Read more about Fjord Norway.
