Autumn family adventure

In Spitsbergen, weather conditions can change quickly. This means we might need to make changes to the planned route, and this might lead up us not arriving to the planned destination. It can also mean that we need to use a different transportation style or accommodation than what was described in the program. We will always do our outmost to give our guests a great experience in the Arctic, but we must be aware that characteristics of the destination. For safety reasons, there must be one adult per child on the dog sledding. The trips have a minimum age of 16 years to be able to travel alone or to be responsible for younger children on the trip. The dog sledding trip is an active trip and an experience where you work with the guide and the other participants in the group. We will guide and assist you when needed. The dog sledding trip is not suitable for people suffering from back pain or pregnant women. This is for your own safety, and unfortunately Basecamp Explorer can not take responsibility for health issues if this advice is neglected. The hike goes in untouched terrain without roads or trails. Depending on the route, we may sometimes also cross rivers created by the glacier. Be prepared for a steep start to the trip, but when we reach the peak of the mountain, the view is unbeatable. Pack your day trip backpack so you can easily put on and take off clothes along the way. You get sweaty on the trip, and it is often cool at the top.
