VisitOslo Region invited to a famtrip where urban life and rural charm, cutting-edge art and architecture, Viking landmarks, world-class dining and local markets were on the program. All this together with cultural happenings and pristine nature – all close by.
Culinary experiences such as the visit of Anora Gjelleråsen aquavit distillery, food tour hike in Oslo, and the food market in Gjøvik were part of this tour. Cultural experiences such as the iconic buildings of the Opera and the National Museum in Oslo but also outside of the city, such as the Haugard Art Museum, the Munch’s house , Henie Onstad and the Kistefos museum. And of course local heritage with a lunch as Revsnes Gods, a visit of Fredrikstad, Northern Europe’s best preserved fortified town.

Arctic Autumn Northern Lights
Coastal- and Sami Culture in Lofoten and Vesterålen

This famtrip took the participants to a  beautiful journey through some of the world’s most iconic islands – Lofoten and Vesterålen. Through this trip, they got examples as how to offer the best combination of outdoor activities with local culture and traditions, comfortable accommodation and culinary experiences.
Participants got insight on how Norwegians have lived above the Arctic Circle for thousands of years. The largest Viking longhouse ever found and excavated is found in Lofoten. The region is a paradise for those seeking outdoor activities and life-changing lights in unreal landscapes and is a perfect place to find peace and creativity. The Arctic light is truly spectacular with the Northern Lights visible from September to March, the crossover seasons, and the Midnight sun from May to August.

Experience the Nordland Railway

This famtrip wanted to showcase the cultural and nature activities in the region of Trøndelag, with focus on the Norlandsbanen, a railway connecting Trondheim to the city of Bodø – above the arctic circle. The visit of the Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim, kayaking down the Nidelven river,  visit of the Stiklestad National Culture Center and guided hiking tours in Namsentunet were just one of the few activities on the program. Local food & highlighting local food tradition was also a strong element in the program.

Autumn Adventures in Fjord Norway

From September to November, there are fewer visitors and you can have some hidden gems almost all to yourself.This is also the time to experience another side of fruit farming along the Sognefjord, when the harvest season brings fresh juices, ciders and jellies to the dinner table. During this famtrip, participants discovered products in several destinations in Fjord Norway: Stavanger, Ryfylke, Haugesund & Haugalandet. They could enjoy cultural and culinary adventure  such as fjord cruise on the Lysefjord,  cultural walk in Sogndalstrand, beer tasting i Berentsen and food walk in Stavanger. Activities such as salmon safari, part of the via ferrata routes in Åkrafjorden, hiking trip next to the beach alongst the coastal landscape between Åkra and Ferkingstad were also on the menu.

Mountain cycling adventures

This famtrip invited tour operators specialized in cycling holidays to discover the biking routes around Dovre, Rondane and Jotunheimen National Parks. Tour de Dovre and Mjølkevegen cycling routes are well developed for biking and can easily programmed and sold with different add-ons. The participants biked every day with e-bikes, with organized luggage transports. They stayed at different types of accommodation,  all from mountains lodges to bigger resorts with a SPA experience at Beitostølen.
In addition, the participants could get a taste of the local food that is served in the smaller mountain hotels & bigger resorts they visited.

Explore the beautiful Dovrefjell mountains and the vibrant city Trondheim

This famtrip explored the Trøndelag region, and in particular 2 exciting destinations, Trondheim and Oppdal. It combined culture, history and nature. Amongst others, the visit of the Britannia Hotel, a visit to the official Royal Residence and a historical  and guided tour including the gothic Cathedral of Nidaros were on the menu in Trondheim. In Oppdal, focus was on the discovery of the possible hikes in the beautiful Trollheimen, tour on a gondola, visit to the activity park by Experience Oppdal and a musk ox safari. Local food was a strong theme during the entire trip, were participants dined at different types of restaurants all specializing in local food.

Mountain adventures

During this famtrip the participants got to experience active & cultural activities in the region of Mountains of Norway. Ideal program for families, individual travelers, and smaller groups. Visit of the Valdres Folkemuseum, to the Borgund Stave Church, kayaking and canoeing, SPA experience in the Beitostølen Resort, hikes and an e-bike tour was on the program.
In addition, the participants could get a taste of the local food that is served in the smaller mountain hotels & bigger resorts they visited.

Authentic coastal life in Hitra& Frøya and the vibrant city Trondheim

During this Famtrip, we embarked on a remarkable journey through Trøndelag, also known as Central Norway. Participants were treated to an exploration of Trondheim's vibrant culinary scene and awe-inspiring attractions, such as the magnificent Nidaros Cathedral, a testament to Norway's rich history. The tour then carried us to Hitra and Frøya, where we reveled in the serene coastal ambiance and indulged in diverse experiences, including island hopping, exploring charming fishing villages, and savoring seafood delicacies. From the vibrant allure of Trondheim to the tranquil authenticity of Hitra and Frøya, the region of Trøndelag is full of contrasts !

Rumours has it that we are closed in winter… this famtrip showed you the quite opposite! During the winter months visitors come to experience nature away from the crowds. Find a peaceful moment by the winter fjord, try activities with or without skis and discover the culture and history of Fjord Norway. From the arrival in Ålesund until Nordfjord the participants experienced several winter activities, like winter kayaking, snowshoeing, skiing, as well as relaxing in a SPA hotel and enjoyed local food.

High impact - Low footprint: Winter in Fjord Norway

During the famtrip, we discovered the city of Bergen and the multiple activities the city can offer at this time of the year, such as: a trip to Mount Fløyen with the Fløibanen Funicular, a trip to one of the most influential silversmith of Norway, and a ice drink at the Magic Ice bar. Participants were encouraged to try the sauna & ice bathing in Nordnes Sjøbad! The tour continues to Voss & Myrkdalen, were skiing was on the agenda as well as the experiencing of Voss Gondol and discovering the unique wine cellar of Park Hotel Vossevangen.

The Narvikregion is situated in the northern part for Norway above the arctic circle and right under the Northern Lights Oval. Between steep mountains and narrow fjords with the astonishing arctic nature as a backdrop, the region offers a wide range of activities and experiences.

Discover Autumn Aurora season in the North

Mountains of Norway – Autumn colours and culinary experiences

The tour operators on this wonderful autumn tour experienced the mountains exploding in colors. They could breathe the crisp, fresh air and tested foraging for wild berries and mushrooms. 
The group had delicious meals locally produced and saw the wonders and colors of nature reflected on their spectacular plates.  They visited and were guests to Skåbu mountain hotel, to Danebu Kongsgaard and to local mountain farms.  The group also took a hike through peaceful forests to beautiful viewpoints and could lookout for wildlife.

Soft adventure activities in the Helgeland archipelago: biking, kayaking, and hiking

Helgeland is a unique destination filled with authentic culture and incredible nature experiences. In this fam trip, incoming and tour operators tried a range of activities such as hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, a RIB safari, a cave visit, and a zip line. We uses bikes, ferries and public transport to get from place to place. The tour started in Brønnøysund and continued to the Vega archipelago (a UNESCO World Heritage site), and on to Herøy and Sandnessjøen, and ended in Mosjøen, the location of one of the world’s longest stone stairways.

Visit Northwest and Destination Ålesund Sunnmøre 

The ultimate Roundtrip in the Northwest, focusing on public transport and longer stays in a year-round destination 

Did you know that by hopping on the train in Oslo or at Oslo Airport to Dombås and then changing to the Rauma Railway lets you experience Norway in the most scenic way (in addition to being comfortable and sustainable)? On this trip, tour operators experienced the northwestern region of Fjord Norway, the county of Møre and Romsdal, known for some of Norway highest-rated attractions like the UNESCO Geirangerfjord, Ålesund, Åndalsnes, Trollstigen, and the Atlantic Road. The operators experienced them all, in addition to some adventure experiences like cycling up the Trollstigen road, and cultural experiences like the clipfish museum and, of course, a taste of fantastic local cuisine. The programme is based on what the hosts believe is “the ultimate roundtrip” — clients travelling by public transport and spending more time at each destination to explore more.

Visit Lyngenfjord – Nature experiences and culture by the Lyngenfjord 

The region between Tromsø, Alta and Finland is an area full of contrasts. From the majestic Lyngen Alps to the islands around Skjervøy and the deep valleys and inland wilderness to the east. The tour operators experienced a huge variety of spectacular nature.

They hiked one of northern Europe's deepest canyons, crossed the Gorsa bridge and visited the fishing village of Skjervøy. They also learned all about distilling whisky at the world's northernmost whisky distillery.

Explore the cultural, historical, and culinary highlights of the Trøndelag region

A beautiful journey through Trøndelag, also known as Central Norway. On this trip, operators stayed at some of the region’s best accommodations, learning more about exciting Viking history and getting into the holiday spirit at one of Norway’s most beautiful Christmas markets. Trøndelag and its biggest city Trondheim has been awarded The European Region of Gastronomy title for 2022 due of its many local food producers and long-standing culinary traditions. Culture in Fjord Norway

Fjord Norway, on the west coast of Norway, is a region full of contrasts. Known for its stunning fjord landscapes, with glaciers, roaring waterfalls and charming fjord cities, most people know it as a summer destination. The region offers a great diversity of cultural experiences, history and heritage, and exciting local food and drink.
