Getting here and around

By train:
  • NSB, the Norwegian State Railways, offers daily departures to Ål from Oslo and Bergen. It takes around three hours and 30 minutes to reach Ål by train from both Oslo or Bergen. Ål station is centrally located close to the centre of Ål.
By car:
  • The shortest route between Oslo and Bergen is along Rv7, and right in the middle you find Ål in Hallingdal. Take the main road from Oslo towards the west following signs to Bergen. Travel time is around three hours. Rv7 from Bergen to Ål takes around three hours and 45 minutes.
By plane:
  • Oslo Airport is the closest international airport, located about three hours from Ål. From the airport, you can go by express bus or express train to Oslo Central Station (Oslo S), and from here continue by bus or train to Ål.
By bus:
  • There are daily bus departures from Oslo to Ål and the journey takes around four hours.
