Doors open at 18:00. Concert starts at 19:00. A warm welcome!
With three critically acclaimed albums behind him, Vidar Furholt has established himself as an artist with a distinctive voice and profound lyrics, delivered in a resonant southern Norwegian dialect. His melodies and arrangements captivate the listener and strike straight at the heart.
The down-to-earth artist and songwriter is now releasing his fourth album, Slippe taket (Letting Go), launched in April 2025. The album is followed by an extensive tour, with concerts across Southern Norway this spring and Northern Norway in the autumn.
Vidar Furholt invites audiences into a universe of subtle wit, gentle humour, vulnerability and strength. With a unique presence and strong storytelling ability, he puts words to feelings that are often hard to express, offering listeners both space for reflection and a sense of hope.
Through his acoustic guitar and warm vocal delivery, Furholt gives each song an intimacy and authenticity that truly resonates. His lyrics revolve around memories, relationships, and the courage to let go of the past in order to embrace what lies ahead.
Vidar Furholt is the engineer and maths teacher who began singing and writing about life as it may be for most of us: slightly crooked, a little painful, sometimes difficult – yet full of kindness and hope.
He has collaborated with artists such as Gunnar Roalkvam, Hanne Sørvaag, Arne Hovda, Dag Vagle and Marie Klåpbakken. His songs are often compared to the reflective Bjørn Eidsvåg and the melancholic Jan Egil, in both expression, themes and storytelling.
