Hiking descriptionThe network of hiking trails in Førde consists of several interconnected trails in the village center.
Strandpromenaden, Elvastien, Lauvnesstien, and Kyrkjestien: These trails go through old, lush cultural landscapes with many memories from earlier times. All are accessible with wheelchairs and strollers. Start from "Sidespranget" below the store in the center, from the parking lot by the old cemetery, or from the parking lot at Strando. At Kyrkjestien, there are remains of the village's first power plant. Lauvnesstien goes north from the bathing area Strando, past Rex Garden, to the residential area on Lauvneset.
Rex Garden Rhododendron Park: This is a special nature park with many thousands of rhododendrons and other plants. There are also wooden sculptures by local chainsaw artist Kenneth Ravn Ottesen. The park has a multitude of hiking trails, some of which are steep and not suitable for wheelchairs. There is a playground at the top of the park.
Kjærlighetsstien (Lover's Trail): This trail is on the west side of the village. Turn left up the hill just before the café at Kaien, follow the trail along the sea, and then continue up towards the main road.
