Imagine eating trout roasted on the fire in sour cream from a mountain farm nearby. Spend the night in a tent by a quiet lake or a river. What could be better than waking up to panoramic view towards the beautiful mountains in Ål? About 50 fishing waters in Ål in Hallingdal gives you the opportunity to eat self-fished trout.
There are many rivers and fishing waters in both the forest and the mountains in Ål. Most waters are easily accessible and the journey to them is a superb nature outing itself. We can particularly recommend the Bergsjøarea, Iungsdalen and Fødalen if you want to head into the mountains.
All fishing waters are marked on the tour maps Reineskarvet and Veståsen/ Sangefjell. Here you can see the brochure Sports fishing in Ål and you'll find information in English here.
The tarn Hesttjørn in Ridalen at Torpo is accessible for wheelchair users. It is also a nice place for families with small children, with a small wharf and fireplace.

In Ål there are nice rivers with great variation that suits perfect for fly fishing. Kvinda and Holselva is two of the top rivers in Ørretens rike, only 10 minutes from the centre of Ål. If you are hunting a new personal record is Holselva definitely worth a try. Hallingdalselva offers deep pools to tempting, nice fly streams. In the sport shops at Sundre there is a good selection of flies and equipment. Oh, do not miss mayfly hatching in the Hallingdalsriver.
