A journey to the Northwest is more than postcard sunsets and panoramic views of jagged peaks in sparkling sunshine. The area has a broad spectre of easily accessible outdoor activities.
In the region of the Atlantic Road and Trollstigen you will find a mountain area with tall peaks and wide views. Hike the Romsdalseggen ridge in Åndalsnes, try the Fjord route north of Kristiansund, or visit the beautiful valley Innerdalen and explore Trollheimen.
Try your fishing luck along the coast or in one of the many fjords in the Northwest. Several places offer fishing trips by boat. If you prefer freshwater fishing, there are numerous mountain lakes to choose from, and there are some good salmon rivers in the region for those who like to wade.
See the sights on two wheels. The Northwest offers a number of bicycle tours for all ages and shapes, whether you prefer road cycling, mountain biking, or cruising on an electric bike.
The Northwest is one of Norway’s classic areas for summit skiing with high mountains, breathtaking fjord views, plenty of snow, and long slopes. Those who prefer cross-country skiing can enjoy kilometres upon kilometres of prepared tracks.
