The nerve-wracking cliff scene in Mission: Impossible – Fallout is praised as the highlight of the movie. Now it’s our mission to lead you to the mountain plateau Preikestolen and the stunning region surrounding the famous cliff in Norway.
Mission: Impossible – Fallout is an eagerly awaited return of agent Ethan Hunt, played by Cruise, who once again travels the world in a quest to complete his mission. And this time, Hunt makes a nail-biting visit to Fjord Norway where he ends up hanging from Preikestolen, a steep cliff rising above the Lysefjord in the county of Rogaland.
A word of warning: Only trained agents like Hunt can survive hanging off the edge of a cliff. Please keep a safe distance from the edge.

We won’t reveal how the dramatic scene unfolds for the action hero, but we can tell you that there is a twist: In the movie, the scene from Preikestolen is set to Kashmir, India. It is, however, no surprise that the movie creators chose Fjord Norway and Preikestolen as a location for the box office success. Already in 2015, BBC journalist Husna Haq wrote that the cliff “could be the setting for any mythical Hollywood epic”.
If you choose to accept our mission to explore Preikestolen and the surrounding region, Beware! You may not be alone like Tom Cruise. Every year, more than 250,000 hikers hit the trails leading up to the top, where a stunning scenery of the deep blue Lysefjord and nearby mountains await. However, should you choose to go in November as Cruise did, you will have the possibility to enjoy this magnificent sight without a crowd.
