Ravnedans Dance Festival in Kristiansand

Ravnedans is Southern Norway's biggest festival of contemporary dance.

Ravnedans in Kristiansand is Southern Norway's biggest festival of contemporary dance. The name of the festival comes from the beautiful park Ravnedalen, in the town of Kristiansand, where the main performance at the festival is happening every year. The experience of the contemporary dance genre, performed by professional performers using powerful nature as a stage creates a magical experience for both the performers and the audience.

Ravnedans 2020
Like many other festivals, also Ravnedans will be strongly affected by Covid-19. We are still in planning mode, and happy to announce that we will be hosting this year's festival as a one-day event on Saturday, July 11.
In order to take care of our audience and artists safety, we have chosen to make Ravnedans 2020 an outdoor festival, with performances in the beautiful nature of Odderøya, followed by RavnBar. The artists of this year's program are curated in collaboration with the Danish artist collective Nordlys, who will also be artistically responsible for directing the performance as a whole. We will of course make all artistic choices for the audience meeting with a strict focus on safety for both the audience and artists. Foreign artists who were to be part of this year's program, but could not participate due to travel restrictions, have been invited to the festival program for 2021.

We in Ravnedans are very grateful that this year's artists and partners have been willing to work with the needed premises to meet the safety requirements. We hope to be able to use the situation to create a different and special Ravnedans, and we look forward to inviting you to festival experiences this summer as well. Full program release is just around the corner. Stay safe, save the dates, and hope to see you at Odderøya on July 11th.

Ravnedans is South-Norways first festival of contemporary dance. The festival started the summer of 2010, and continued every summer. The festival is a growing meeting point for dance artists in the north, and a place to be inspired with performances, workshops and seminars. They want to contribute to increase contemporary dance in the southern region.

Ravnedans are expanding the festival with a variety of performances in different locations in Kristiansand.
