Shopping in Kristiansand

  • Kristiansand is an eldorado for shopping lovers. In the city centre, called Kvadraturen, you find shopping malls and charming small boutiques and cafes. Kristiansand's main shopping street is called Markensgate.
  • Shops are usually open from 9 AM - 6 PM and on Saturdays from 9 AM - 4 PM. There are extended opening hours in the malls. On Sunday most of the shops are closed, but souvenir shop's, restaurants, museums and galleries are open.
  • 12 kilometres east of the city of Kristiansand, lies Sørlandssenteret, One of Scandinavias largest mall with 165 shops.
     

Winter pleasures in Kristiansand

  • The city of Kristiansand receives little snow in winter, but skiing is possible only a few kilometres from the coast. Amongst the possibilities is Tveit skisenter (ski resort).
  • Idda Arena is a multipurpose hall with an indoor skating rink and curling rinks. Skate hire is available.
  • Every winter a part of the town square in Kristiansand is transformed into a ice skating rink.
  • You will find a number of alpine resorts in Southern Norway. From Kristiansand you spend from one to three hours to get to the destinations.
