Follow in the Queen's footsteps on one of the most beautiful and popular hiking trails in Norway, Dronningstien in stunning Hardanger.
The trail leads through the high mountains between Kinsarvik and Lofthus and offers magnificent fjord views.
It is about 10 km long and takes about 6 - 9 hours to walk.
Explore this marked hiking trail between the historical fishing villages of Nyksund and Stø in the Vesterålen archipelago in Northern Norway!
Dronningruta is a round trip of about 15 km which takes between 5-8 hours from start to finish.
It is named after Queen Sonja who first completed the hike in 1994.
Dronningruta i de Syv Søstre is a trail through seven mountain peaks by Sandnessjøen in Northern Norway.
This hike takes you to the top of two of the northernmost peaks (or 'sisters'), Botnkrona and Grytfoten.
The hike is challenging at around 13-15 km in length and 5-8 hours each way.
The Queen hiked this trail when she first visited the Seven Sisters.
The Queen inaugurated this trail on 14 July 2016, when she was 79 years old!
Dronningvarden is situated at the top of Stortinden mountain in Digermulen, Northern Norway.
The hike to the top is about 4 km long and takes around two hours.
A sign at the top features a quote by the Queen: "What a country!"
This is a very demanding hike at 11 km and 7-9 hours.
The trail runs over the Møkland mountains in Vesterålen, Northern Norway.
It is a solid workout but the incredible views of wild rock formations really make it worth the effort.
This is a moderate hike over Fløya in Steigen, Northern Norway.
Dronningruta is 10.2 km long and takes 4 - 5 hours. The trail runs over Fløya from Skånland to Holkestad. The hike provides wonderful views the whole way.
