Chamber music concert featuring the viola da gamba and the claviorganum

Two historic instruments come together in an intimate musical dialogue, featuring Baroque music from France and Germany. Many in Stokka will recognise Henrikke G. Rynning, who has performed at the church several times before. She is a prominent figure in Norway’s viola da gamba community and could, with a touch of humour, be called the queen of the viola da gamba in Norway.

Henrikke brings the viola da gamba’s warm, expressive tone together with Ghislain Gourvennec’s claviorganum — a rare combination of harpsichord and organ.

The programme moves between lyrical melodies, refined ornamentation, deep bass lines and shimmering chords, ranging from intimate and reflective passages to virtuosic and lively music.
