Marte Eberson

Tuesday 13 October Marte Eberson visits Lille Ole Bull – in the spotlight with new music and entering a new and personal phase of her artistry.

The recent single «Hurt My Soul» marks the start of a series of upcoming releases from Eberson. The song has a cinematic expression that balances the nostalgic and the modern, and deals with unrequited love. With references to David Lynch, Mazzy Star and the times we live in, Eberson clearly signals the direction of what is to come.

Marte Eberson grew up in a musical family and took early steps into the world of music. After studies at Griegakademiet in Bergen she has played a central role in a number of acclaimed projects. For many she is primarily known from Highasakite, where she was part of the band's national and international breakthrough, with Spellemannpriser and concerts at some of the world's most prestigious venues.

In recent years Eberson has devoted increasing time to her own projects. The solo album Free (2023) was met with glowing reviews for its bold, cinematic soundscape and genre-crossing expression. Her music moves elegantly between jazz, pop, electronica and modern classical, and has given her a distinct and unique place in Norwegian musical life.

In parallel she is also a member of Eberson, the jazz rock band she shares with her father, guitar legend Jon Eberson – a project that unites generations through playful and exploratory music. Marte Eberson is also known as a powerful and expressive live artist, with high energy and clear nerve on stage.

She has released several singles this spring, and this autumn a new album arrives – which Eberson herself describes as her most personal to date. The record is produced in collaboration with Lars Voldsdal (Madrugada, Sivert Høyem, Hellbillies, Turbonegro and others).

The concert at Lille Ole Bull gives audiences a unique opportunity to experience both new material and earlier songs – performed with intimacy, power and cinematic atmosphere. This concert is part of the concert series Bergen Live Sessions.
