Accommodation Langøytangen
Langøytangen Lighthouse has accommodation in a lighthouse keeper's residence just outside Langesund. The lighthouse is located on idyllic Langøya.
Langesundsfjorden Coastal Association in Langesund offers coastal accommodation in the Lighthouse Keeper's House from 1939 at Langøytangen Lighthouse. The Lighthouse Keeper's House is situated idyllically on Langøya, just outside Langesund and at the outermost point on the Telemark coast.
Season
The season starts from just after Easter and runs until October. The high season is from the first Friday in June to the last Sunday in August.
Lighthouse Keeper's House with basic standard
The Lighthouse Keeper's House has 4 rooms with a total of 12 beds. The living room, kitchen, and bathroom are communal areas, and there is a great bio-toilet outside just around the corner. It is set up with a basic standard of self-catering. The Lighthouse Keeper's House is equipped with tableware, glasses, cups, pots, electric whisk, egg cooker, garlic press, cooking utensils, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, refrigerator, and cutlery - bathroom with shower.
Grills for charcoal are available in the basement. Electrically heated and with a wood stove (firewood can be purchased on-site, self-service ...).
You must bring your own bed linen or sleeping bag (there are duvets and pillows for all beds (a lamp for each sleeping space)).
WIFI in the Coastal House/Lighthouse Keeper's House (not for downloading large amounts of data such as movies); password posted in the house.
The area has a playground with swings and a sling swing.
Rooms
Remember to bring bed linen, sheet or pillowcase, and dish towels.
The house is self-service, and one must clean and tidy up after oneself.
1st floor Room 1: 2 bunk beds - a total of 4 sleeping places
2nd floor Room 2: 1 bunk bed - a total of 2 sleeping places
2nd floor Room 3: 1 bunk bed - a total of 2 sleeping places
2nd floor Room 4: 1 bunk bed and 1 double bed - a total of 4 sleeping places (Room 4 also has a 2-seater sofa where a small child can sleep - free of charge).
During the summer season (Easter-October), there is drinking water from a water post with municipal water. During the winter season, you can bring water for drinking (please arrange with the emergency phone number - 950 86 026). Water for tooth brushing, tea, coffee, cooking, etc. indoors comes from a 40,000-liter cistern with municipally tapped water (approved annual water samples).
How to get to Langøya
Langesundsfjorden Coastal Association has a 13 ft Pioner with a 6 hp motor and/or rowboat for rent, which can be booked by calling the emergency phone number +47 950 86026, not SMS. During the summer season, there is a boat between Langesund and Langøya, see schedules at www.helgeroafergene.no or by contacting them at phone number 35 90 00 20.
Inexpensive ferry transport can be booked by calling 952 57 705.
Floating dock
There is a floating dock with mooring possibilities for your own boat at Langøytangen from June 15 to September 15. Mooring at/on the lighthouse pier all year round for two to three small boats (depth up to 1m). During rough seas, the boat is moored at Langøya Guest Pier, and it is a 25-minute walk to Langøytangen.
Please note that there are special conservation regulations for the island
