Atlungstad Golf
An epic golf course by Mjøsa
Norway's most beautiful golf experience?
Perhaps it can be found in Stange Vestbygd – or “Tuscany of the North” as it has been described by a newspaper journalist.
Atlungstad Golf is a south-west facing 18-hole golf course on the banks of Mjøsa, only a short drive from Hamar town centre.
The course is one of the most spectacular in the country, and has been designed by the renowned golf course architects Dave Thomas Ltd. It has something to challenge everyone, from experts to novices. The premises also include a club house, pro shop, cafeteria, and function rooms.
Atlungstad Brenneri, a heritage distillery, is right next to the course. Its chimney has become a good aiming point for the green at several of the holes.
The area has its own Skibladner quay, offering alternative transport to the golf experiences. During the season, Skibladner calls at regular intervals as part of its scheduled service.
The number is 17
The course offers everything from narrow forest holes and open parkland to the most spectacular where you hit the ball “across” lake Mjøsa. Its signature hole, number 17, is an undulated green right by the water's edge.
Hold your next function, seminar, or meeting at the golf course
In 2019, Atlungstad Golf purchased “Disponenten”, a building ideal for meetings, seminars, and functions. It has a seating capacity of 80, and offers views of Mjøsa on one side and the golf course one the other.
“Disponenten” was built in 1895 as a residence and office for the official inspector of the distillery. It was later used as a family residence for the general manager at Atlungstad Brenneri.
