Aurora Safari Camps

Seeing the Northern Lights is an ultimate must-do experience for travellers visiting the Arctic. Why not try it in a comfortable way? Join our Aurora Safari Camp, a unique Northern Lights tour departing Tromsø city centre!

This tour is conducted by Best Arctic.

We have private and safe Aurora Safari Camps located in different areas to cover different weather regimes, giving us a high hit rate for seeing the Northern Lights. We have local hosts, warm shelters, toilet facilities, thermal winter suits and tripods, as well as campfires and benches outside (N.B: The campfire is subject to weather conditions).

The system involving Aurora Safari Camps is unique to Best Arctic. Based on our vast experience, the latest weather forecast, wind direction and the hosts at the Aurora Safari Camps, we choose the Aurora Safari Camp with the best chances of clear sky and, therefore, of experiencing the Northern Lights. If the weather changes and clouds move in, we check with our network if it would be better to move to another location. And if so, we finish our meal, hot drinks and “lefse” (a local sweet snack) before leaving to look for clear skies somewhere else. In these circumstances, we will stay along the roads searching for a clear sky.

Our focus on this trip is always to show you the Northern Lights!
