Bjørnøya coastal fortification is a cultural heritage point with a rich history. At World War II it was used as a defence fortification, with bunkers and trenches around the area.
The shoreline surrounding the fortification has a good view towards the neighbouring islands. There are also many tracks to follow if you would like a full walk in the area. If you want a rest there are bench tables.
Watch out for the kids as not all of the bunkers and trenches are secured! Also all dogs have to be leashed due to grazing animals.
