The day trip cabin in Lærdal is located on Mjølkeflaten and has been named Mjølkeflathytta. From the cabin there is a good view over Lærdal, both towards Øyri and up to Ofta and Hauge.
Access and parking
Take off from road 5 towards the center and take off to Lærdal Grønt. Here youi find a prepared parking space for the day trip cabin. Continue on the path under the bridge and follow the road over the bridge to find the start of the path.
The path to the cabin
The trip to Mjølkeflathytta is an easy trip on the mountain side on the north side of Lærdalsøyri. The trail is nice and well marked. Just before the tunnel opening to Fodnestunellen there is a gate and there is a marked path to Mjølkeflathytta. Some boulders are safe with ropes and stairs, especially mint on winter trips.
It is also possible to leave Stødno. Then you take off to Lærdal hospital and take off to Stødnavegen. From the farm Stødno there is a marked path to Hedler and Mjølkeflathytta. The trail runs on the north side of the Lærdal river.

The trip from the tunnel openings takes approx. 30 minutes and is about 1 km. The cabin is located at 95 masl. The trip from Stødno is 2.3 km.
