Would you like a real musher experience where not only the beautiful Svalbard scenery but also the dogs are in focus - our full day with dogsledding provides the a great Arctic dogsledding experience!

These tours are important for us and the dogs to keep our dogs fit for dogsledding expeditions and dog races. Many of our dogs have run Iditarod the longest dog race in the world and participated in expeditions to the North Pole and all over Spitsbergen. We hope to continue doing these adventures and like you to help us prepare the dogs for this. We are going to the North Pole with 5 dog teams in April.

You run 2 and 2 on our specially designed sleds where both are actively running together. Our experienced guides will provide all the necessary training, and run in front to show the way. The silent winter journey through wide valleys and over large glaciers combined with the close contact with the dogs will be an experience regardless of the weather. Warm lunch and drinks will be served during the tour inside an igloo or out in the open next to the dogs.

We will pick you up by car at your accommodation in town at 09:00 in the morning  (10:00 at Saturdays and Sundays) and drive through the historical Adventdal to our kennel in Bolterdalen. Here you will get what you need of warm clothing (insulated overall, hat, mittens, winter boots and headlamps). After dressing up we will harness up the dogs and head out on the trip. We will be back in town again around 16:00 (17:00 at Saturdays and Sundays).

Minimum age is 12 years.

For families travelling with younger kids we also offer custom made or other organised fullday tours where everyone can participate. You will find links to these tours at the bottom of this page.

Contact post@huskytravellers.com for more information.

Please note that the guide will start picking up guests from the hotels at 09:00 (10:00 at Saturdays and Sundays).
