Freshwater Fishing on Karmøy
Karmøy has many lakes, though not all of them are open for fishing. Please note that a fishing licence is required for most waters. Licences can be purchased from the following locations:

Fishing Waters on Karmøy:
South Karmøy: This area includes 40 lakes. Note: Hilleslandvatnet is not included in the scheme. Most lakes have trout, and at least two have pike. Fishing with a rod is permitted from 1 April to 15 September.
North Karmøy: Extending from Kopervik in the south to the airport in the north. Fishing licences are available for Fotvatnet, Slettevatnet, Rossavatnet, Storestemmen, Gåsavatnet, and Grodavatnet, with varying populations of trout.
Mainland Side and Fosen: This area covers eight lakes: Aksnesvatnet, Helgelandsvatnet, Vormedalsvatnet/Longavatnet, Tuastadvatnet, Litlavatnet, Øvre- og nedre Helgelandsvatn, and Tjolandsvatnet.
Saltwater Fishing on Karmøy
You can fish freely for saltwater species from land or boat all year round using a rod or hand line. Popular fishing spots include Åkra, Sandve, Visnes, Dalsnes, Blikshavn, and Lindøy.
