Galleri Eggum

In Gallery Eggum , you are coming close to the nature of Lofoten. You will find paintings and graphic art made by Rolf Aarøe Arnesen. He is keen to convey the dramatic changes and the changing light- and color ratio in the nature of Lofoten. He is not only showing nature, but also another part of his art, which is more impressionistic, spontaneous, simplified and with an enhanced coloration.

Gallery Eggum is located 4.6 km from the exit towards Eggum, from the E10 at Bøstad. It is a small gallery in idyllic surroundings and is located on the outside of Lofoten's harsh coast. The gallery is actually a small farm from 1878 which is partially converted into a gallery.
The small farm also consists of an original Nordlandshus from the specified year, which is no longer often seen.

The gallery has free admission.
In the barn building you can see the gallery. Here Rolf Aarøe Arnesen shows about 60 different paintings and prints. Most of the motives are taken from Lofoten's changing natural impressions.
In addition to paintings, different print formats are presented, in different price ranges.
In the same building you can see the antique department, which sells art glass, old porcelain and old glass.

About 4 kilometers further from the gallery you come to the small town Eggum, which from ancient times was mostly inhabited by fishermen and sheep farmers. It is a charming dense settlement with small houses. Out here the road stops in a recreation area. This is a favorite exit to a lot of motorhome tourists. Here you have a full view of the midnight sun. A 15-minute walk further you can see the much talked about work of art "the head", a sculpture by Markus Raetz 'in connection with Kulturlandskap Nordland.
Welcome to Gallery Eggum !
