Gryta Camping has a breathtaking location by Oldevatnet Lake in Oldedalen.
You can view glaciers, high mountains and beautiful Norwegian nature, directly from your own tent! Gryta is a nice place for your holliday – a good place to relax far away from the hectical everyday life.
The campground is also a good starting point for both small and long walks in the mountains we`re surrounded with. It`s nice to just take a small stroll along the lake and find wild berries – or climb to the top of some of these beautiful mountains. You`ll get walking maps in the reception, and we`ll give you some of our own recommendations.
The famous Briksdal Glacier is only 10 minutes from Gryta, and it`s also nice to take a trip to Olden, Stryn, Nordfjordeid, Måløy, Geiranger, Jølster and Førde – for shopping and breathtaking sightseeing in one of Norways most beautiful areas.
Oldedalen is a beautiful small village at the end of Nordfjorden. You`re surrounded by waterfalls, wild mountains and picturesque nature. The lake Oldevatnet has also a specially colour – from the minerals in the glaciers around.
Tourists have been travelling to Oldedalen and the famous Briksdal Glacier for hundreds of years, and many of our tourist keep coming back year after year. A nice place to visit – and to return to whenever you want.
The campground is situated by Oldevatnet Lake, and has a well prepared are for the campers – so you can enjoy the beautiful view 360 degrees view.
Our top capacity is ca 80 units, so it is a quite large campground – and you as our guest get to choose your own place. Because of the campgrounds large area it is also a very good place to stay for people who travel in groups. Just let us know when you`ll arrive, and we`ll reserve a nice place for you.
Gryta Camping has 75 units for electricity, and we have also extra cables if you need.
We`ve got five nice, red cottages with traditional grass on the roof. All the cabins are built over the last 10 years, so the standards are very good. The cabins are suitable for both a long or short stay. All cabins have pillows and blankets, and you can rent bed linen for 50 NOK per person. It`s your choice if you want to clean the cabin before departure yourselves, or if you want to pay 100 NOK for us to do it.
Staying at our cosy cabins, you have also the opportunity to order breakfast. This is served in the cafe from 08.00 to ca 10.00 am.

By the reception in the main building we`ve got a cosy cafe – open from 08.00 to 22.00 every day during the week. If you should be so unlucky to get some rain here – the cafè is a nice, dry and warm place to be. And if the sun is too warm – it`s a nice place to cool down. We`ve got Yatzy, Ludo, Chess and other games. You can also connect our our wireless network here.
The serving is very simple – with black coffee, tea, waffles and cakes – all home made ofcourse.
It`s also possible to order breakfast here. If you let us know the evening before, you can relax the next morning and get the breakfast here in the cafe. Pure holiday.
Also, here is a large TV – especially popular during The Olympics, Tour de France and the WC Football. And of course: the weather forcast every evening.
You`ve got many opportunities for activities here at Gryta Camping. You can borrow our rowingboats for free – life vest included, and you can also rent bikes if you want to park your car for a day or so. The campground is also a great starting point for both short and long walks in the mountains we`re surrounded by. A wireless network is available; we have a TV- room and a nice cafe.
