Hattefjell is the mountain that lies above Seljord in the northeast direction.
Marked trail starts at an intersection on the mountain road to Bråten. The first piece is more or less steep climb through the woods before you get on a wider path that ends at Hattefjellmyri. From here you will find a marked, steep trail to the top where there is a marvelous view of the Seljord and also against Skorve, Mæle Mountains and Lifjell.
From the top you look straight down on the farms in Åsheimgrendi.
Alternative route: Beside Hattefjellmyri you can follow the marked trail west to the pleasant Tjønnstaul with old mountain farm buildings. The path is partly a bit blurred. Walking time from Hattefjellmyri: about 1 hour
