Klovane
Klovane, 982 m.a.s.l., in Olden offers a fantastic view of the Oldedalen valley. Area: Breheimen incl. the Jostedalsbreen glacier Type: Hike/walk Classification: Demanding Length and duration: 6 km roundtrip, about 4 hours Season: May–October.
The hike starts at Oldevatn Camping. Parking on the north side of Gjølelva river. Follow the gravel road to the first farm cluster. Take a left up beside a red barn, and then take the first road to the left. The path is signposted/marked with red paint all the way to the top. The hike to Klovane is a lofty hike with spectacular views of fjords, mountains, lakes and glaciers. The hike is through steep terrain on the right side of Gjølelva river. There is a steep section near the end that involves some climbing before you reach the plateau at the top. Here you can enjoy the view extending from Rake in the north to Melkevollsbreen glacier in the south.
