Join us for an hour's walk through 300 years of mining history. The guided tour takes you through the Nyberget mine dating from the 17th century and the Olav's Mine from the 20th century, descending 50 metres below ground and 500 m into the mountain before reaching the massive Miner's Hall.

The guided tour takes you through the Nyberget mine dating from the 17th century and the Olav’s Mine from the 20th century, descending 50 metres below ground and 500 m into the mountain before reaching the massive Miner’s Hall. Sound effects and lighting add to the authentic feel. Remember to wear warm clothes and solid footwear!

The museum houses exhibitions about the mining community and the geology of the region.

Museum shop. Café during the summer season (1.07. – 6.08: 12-17). Guided tours daily in the summer season, Thursdays and Saturdays during winter, offered in English and Norwegian. See the times for the guided tours under "Time".

During the winter season: Reservations by 12.00 on the day of the tour to: Røros Museum (+ 47 72 40 61 70).

Free access for children under the age of 16 when accompanied by an adult. Not valid for group bookings.

The Olavsmine is about 13 km from the center of Røros. No comertial transportation.
