Røssjøkollane comprises three peaks set in an open landscape in Langsua National Park.
Røssjøkollane comprises three peaks set in an open landscape in Langsua National Park, north of Synnfjell. From the tops, there are beautiful views towards Spåtind 1414, Skjervungfjellet, Skarvemellen, Rundemellen, Snuen, Ormtjernskampen, and Langsua.
Starting point for the trip is the car park by Trekjern, and the first section before you reach the high mountain is a forest trail and some marshland. The full distance is approx. 10 km, and the trip takes around 2 hours to complete. It is moderately challenging, and leads through varied forest and mountain terrain.
By car, follow route 250 and then 196 (signposted Synnfjell). Continue to Oppsjøkrysset. Turn left and continue for approx. 6 km to the car park by Trekjern.
From Røssjøkollane, it is possible to walk west to Djuptjernskampen – an approx. 7 km hike on a well-kept trail.
