Curtisen has a unique location in the heart of Norway's most beautiful fortifications, a fortress
with a history dating back hundreds of years. The Swedish king Karl XII met his fate here in
1718, but today things are peaceful at the fortress.
The restaurant seats 36 people on the second floor, and 12 people in the Chambre séparée, on
the ground floor. The restaurant has a menu that can be pre-ordered, but they are often
encouraged to put together a larger menu of wines.
Restaurant Curtisen is a member of Guldkorn, and therefore places great emphasis on using
regional products. They are constantly connecting with new local producers, and investing in
traceable and seasonal ingredients. Curtisen is also a member of De historiske hotel og
spisesteder, which is an independent collection of Norway's most charming hotels and eateries.
Curtisen places great emphasis on the role of host, and has as its main goal that all guests
should thrive, and have an outstanding food and service experience.
