Follow the sign "Fossberg" from the crossroad before the Baroniet. Parking lot at Fossberg by the entrance to the Hattebergsdalen valley.

Information Board by the parking lot. The route goes first on 2 km of gravel road without markings, and then turns into a path with T markings and signs up Murabotnen.

When the water flow is high, the stream up in Murabotnen can be difficult to cross. There is an incline above the stream. An alternative return can be the path via "Gamlestølen" down to Guddal, or the path via Malmangernuet and directly down to Rosendal.  See the routes "Malmangernuten from Hattebergsdalen" and "Malmangernuten from Rosendal".

From the parking lot at Fossberg, it is 2 km along the gravel road (toll road) to the bottom of the valley. The path goes up the Murabotnen and to the left at the fork; to the right is the path to Malmangernuten. Past the old walls at Kuhammarstølen mountain farm, you will eventually come to a sign towards the view point of the Bjørndal area and the sources of the Hatteberg waterway. These are central areas in Folgefonna National Park. There is a beautiful panorama view from the cairn at Skeisfjell, where you can see Ulvanosa, Blådalshorga and Bjørndalstindane.
