Lunner – cross-country skiing at Mylla

Lunner municipality is home to the stunning Mylla, a spectacular cabin and outdoor area. As you explore its fantastic network of trails, you may well come across famous politicians and royals among those out enjoying the snow.

Parking and starting point for the trail network are on the eastern side of Mylla, and the car park is called “Myllsdammen”. There is a parking fee payable via Youpark when you leave.

Recommended trails and trail status reports
The Myllsdammen gateway offers access to trails stretching across the entire Nordmarka. Many opt for the ski-bus service to Mylla and skiing back to Oslo, but the trails also stretch to Tverrsjøstallen in Jevnaker, Ringkollen in Ringerike, and all the way to the old forest at Krokskogen. For a short – but absolutely stunning – trip, we recommend "Den lille Myllarunden".

How to get there
The easiest is to drive to Myllsdammen. Address: Myllavegen 441, 2742 Grua.

Food & drink:
For a bite to eat and a hot beverage, the nearest is Tverrsjøstallen ski lounge located 8 km on skis from Myllsdammen.  
We recommend a visit during weekends in winter, but remember to bring a snack in your backpack as well!

Accommodation:
Thorbjørnrud Hotell enjoys a beautiful setting by Randsfjorden in Jevnaker, and offers waxing facilities as part of a collaboration agreement with Skiforeningen. The hotel also collaborates with Flyt, which is a new floating sauna on Randsfjorden. What could be more memorable than a spectacular ski trip in the great outdoors, checking in to a welcoming hotel, and enjoying a hot sauna followed by a refreshing dip in the fjord!?
 
Lushaugtårnet at Lygna – summer hike
Trip from Lygnasæter to Lushaugtårnet via Lushaughytta.
A spectacular hike to Lushaugtårnet, a multi-platform observation tower with a 360-degree panorama. The 5 km hike to the tower takes approx. 1.5 hours, and you follow the same route back.
Drive to Lygnasæter Hotel and park up. Follow the road until you reach Jotunheimstien. Its starting point is by the stables behind Lygnasæter Hotel. Continue south along the tractor track on the eastern side of the cabin area for approx. 2 km to Finnskjeggholen. Then follow the trail south through forest terrain and across walkways and open landscape, to the foot of  Vesle Lushaugen. Continue east to the Lushaughytta cabin, and then up the steep hillside to Lushaugen og Lushaugtårnet. The tower stands 15 metres high, and – on a clear day – offers stunning views of Eastern Norway.

Good footwear is recommended as some areas can be wet and muddy.
Visit Lygnasæter Hotel and its Kro  for a bite to eat, or relax in the hotel’s beautiful surroundings. 

Show consideration during your visit, and follow these basic guidelines: 
• Adhere to the code of conduct for public right of access
• Park at designated car parks and campsites
• Take your litter home or use the bins provided
• Remember the rules for keeping dogs on a lead; respect campfire bans and restrictions, and use designated sites only
• Try to use local shops along the route
• Drive nicely, but not too nicely – keep up with the traffic
