Timberrafting at the river Glomma
Welcome to timber rafting at Glomma
For 700 years, timber has been floated down the Glomma between Sørumsand and Fetsund. Simple timber rafts were an important means of transportation as whole families moved what they had of assets from Sørumsand and down to work at Fetsund booms, but also to other types of transport. Everything from firewood to livestock has been transported in this way. Elsewhere in the country, timber rafts have also played a role in the transport of timber.
Now you can also take part in the experience of sliding down the river on a raft.
Timberraft is a small experience company that offers rental of timber rafts for a trip on the Glomma between Sørumsand and Fetsund. We are located on Sørumsand in Lillestrøm municipality, close to where Glomma flows into the lake Øyeren. The trips can have different lengths, ranging from a shorter trip on Sørumsand to a day trip down to Fetsund booms or through the Nordre Øyeren nature reserve.
