Via Ferrata Ingadalen is located in Åkrafjorden and is the perfect trail for families or those who want to try out climbing. Here you get a great nature experience, while at the same time feeling a sense of mastery. We recommend climbing with a local guide from Åkrafjorden Nature.
The climbing route is located on the south side of the E-134 motorway and is visible from the square outside Åkrafjorden Nature B&B. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the entrance. The view is great, you can see Rullestad to the east and Fjæra and Åkrafjorden to the west, and to the north the mighty ‘Kyrkjeveggen’. When you've finished climbing, follow the marked path back to the starting point. For those who want an extra challenge, it's possible to take a shortcut over a 30-metre-long gorge on a balance bridge.

Everyone climbs with an approved climbing harness, helmet and via ferrata sling (fall protection) that you can borrow from Åkrafjorden Nature. Otherwise, comfortable hiking clothes and good shoes are recommended.

The meeting point for this tour is Åkrafjorden Nature B&B in Fjære. Here you will be given equipment, and an introduction and safety briefing before the tour starts.
When can I climb Via Ferrata Ingadalen during the year?
This route can be climbed all year round, provided there is not too much snow.
Climb the route without a guide
The route can be climbed on your own if you have previous climbing experience and climbing equipment. If you don't have your own equipment, you can hire it from Åkrafjorden Nature. Remember that all climbers must register with Åkrafjorden Nature and pay a climbing fee.
