De Historiske
De Historiske is an organisation made up of Norway's most charming hotels, dining establishments, and historic ships. To be awarded the De Historiske label, a conscious approach is required, where storytelling plays a major role in the member's accommodation and gastronomy. With history and tradition as a backdrop, we aim to create new stories for our guests through exciting and memorable experiences that you can cherish long after you have returned home.
Although each member of De Historiske is unique, you will find some common features: a warm welcome, good service, a friendly atmosphere, and a high standard. Our label ensures a consistently high level of quality. Our values — welcoming, personal, and quality-conscious — support our common vision: to be known as a great place to visit.
Our members offer exquisite dishes and fine wines, beautiful art and architecture, traditional culture and design, and history in venerable and romantic surroundings. Moreover, you can stay close to a range of activities from golf, sleigh rides, skiing, shopping, and sightseeing, to, fishing, hunting, boating, horseback riding, hiking, and more.
For generations, members of De Historiske have provided their guests with an authentic Norwegian experience. We take pride in preserving our local nature and culture.
Sustainability is a key part of our work. Our members are continuously reducing food waste and developing menus in close collaboration with local producers and suppliers. Traditional ingredients are often sourced from the hotel’s own kitchen garden and local producers, or simply foraged in the forest. Geothermal heating is used, and other measures are taken to reduce energy usage. To better experience the destination up close, many hotels also offer bicycles and electric vehicles.
We deliver much more than a good bed and a delicious meal; first and foremost, we provide guests with a diversity of experiences. Simply put, De Historiske represents the very best that Norway has to offer.
