Marked hiking and ski trails in Sysendalen
The map shows cross country ski slopes and some chosen summer trails in Sysendalen and in central nearby mountain areas.
The marked and groomed ski slopes in Sysendalen are mainly classified as blue for medium to well trained skiers with fundamental skills. The parts of the tracks that are more demanding is checked in the map with a higher grading.
In the trail network it’s deployed directional signs with names on the place where the trail ends and distance to this place. There are also colored symbols in accordance with the grading degree. Make sure to educate yourself in which skills are needed to ski or hike the different graded trails.
The winter trails will be prepared every weekend from Christmas until after Easter, and are ready for use from 10 am each Saturday and Sunday. The trails that are in the high mountain will not be prepped until the winter-break in February/March.
The summer trails are marked in yellow on the map. In addition you can also see the DNT’s footpaths in the area. They’re marked in red. Where there is DNT-marked trails that are congruent with the local trails it is not marked with yellow. Complete round trips in the summer trail network are tagged with name, direction and distance to the place.
There is a combined pedestrian / cycle path and ski trail in Sysendalen. It runs between Midtbø and Maurset. It has lights. It is marked in blue for the ski trail and yellow for the footpath.
The marked summer trails are graded in red for experienced hikers.
