There are regular ferry routes to Norway from Denmark, Germany, and Sweden. Most operators offer package deals for cars with passengers and discounts for seniors, students, and children.
You can travel in a more environmentally conscious way by bringing your bike instead of your car, or walking on board. Speaking of the environment, several ferry operators are using new, alternative fuel sources. The majority of the ferries in Oslo and Kristiansand connect to land-based electric power in order to avoid emissions when docked.
