Get eclipsed by this stunning skier short

When nature cuts to black.

Norway is a favored destination among keen skiers, and perhaps the most exotic location of all is Svalbard - the snow-covered archipelago in the Arctic Ocean, characterized by its many mountains and glaciers.

That’s why a team of Salomon skiers and filmmakers recently went there with photographer Reuben Krabbe. Krabbe’s vision was to capture the skiers against the magnificent backdrop that is last year’s total solar eclipse.

The documentary they made together was published before Christmas, and now has over 700,000 views on Youtube. That’s not that strange, considering it’s a funny, exciting and beautifully shot mini documentary.

You can watch it here, for free. It’s 30 minutes long, but well worth the time if you ask us:

The film from Salomon Freeski TV clearly show Svalbard’s beauty, but also the many challenges visitors and residents face, such as quite extreme weather … and polar bears.

By the way, this is not the first time a team from Salomon is in Norway to shoot a movie.

For instance, back in 2013 they visited the region of Fjord Norway:
