Ride together, laugh together! Tusenfryd, Norway's largest amusement park, is just 20 minutes from the city by bus or car. During the summer, your tickets include access to Badefryd Water Park.

Oslo has several exciting climbing parks. Skimore Oslo - Summer park, just 30 minutes from the city centre by metro, is one of Scandinavia's largest. Oslo Climbing Park in Groruddalen valley offers tree-top courses, Tarzan jumps, and zip-lines for a thrilling adventure!

4. Art for kids

Oslo's art museums offer plenty for kids. The MUNCH Museum has children's art days and workshops, while The National Museum engages young visitors with activity benches, drawing stations and a kid-friendly app with audio stories.

5. Oslo's sculpture parks

Vigeland Sculpture Park, also known as Frogner Park, features open spaces for running and exploring, along with 212 unique sculptures by Gustav Vigeland that both kids and parents will enjoy.

Ekeberg Sculpture Park is another must-see, offering a vast art collection and breathtaking views of Oslo. In 2015, The Wall Street Journal named it one of the world's top 5 sculpture parks!

    Bogstad Manor

    Beautiful manor house fully furnished with items from the years 1750-1850. Bogstad is located in a romantic Norwegian landscape reminiscent of an English garden, and has been home to many prominent people. The manor's animals include cows, sheep, pigs, goats, chickens and rabbits. The grounds also include a play area for children, walking trails, a café, a historic park and changing exhibitions in the lobby. Guided tours Tours of the museum are available between mid-May and mid-September. Group tours are available upon request all year. Free entry to the area - the fees here apply to the guided tours.     Losæter

    Cultural institution dedicated to art and urban agriculture. Losæter is a green oasis located between construction sites and heavy traffic in Bjørvika, and features an ancient grain field, a vegetable garden and a sculptural bakehouse. The artist group Futurefarmers is behind Losæter, which offers activities from Flatbread Society, Oslo's City Farmer and Herligheten Community Garden, among others. The towers on the site are airing towers from the Opera tunnel directly underneath Losæter.

7. Travel through time

Kids are fascinated by the names, traits, and sheer size of dinosaurs. Travel 4.5 billion years back in time at The Natural History Museum in Tøyen, close to the city centre.

While at the Natural History Museum, be sure to explore the Botanical Garden with its cosy café. It's an inspiration for gardeners and a great place for kids to burn off energy.

8. A world class library

With its modern architecture and breathtaking views, Deichman Bjørvika is a must-visit for all. This public library is located next to the central station and is packed with cool things for the whole family to explore!

Deichman Biblo Tøyen is another unique library filled with books and experiences for kids aged 10 to 15 – only. Adults have to wait outside!

9. Dive into Oslo

Whether you want to take a dip in the fjord, enjoy outdoor pools, or indoor swimming facilities, Oslo has it all.

The city's largest swimming facility opened in January 2025. Tøyenbadet features several pools, a thrilling water slide, a diving pool and saunas.

10. The Akershus Fortress

To experience Oslo’s history, visit Akershus Fortress, a medieval castle on the waterfront. Explore its old halls, dungeons, museums, and fortifications. For a spooky adventure, book a guided nighttime tour – legend has it the fortress is haunted!

Just a short walk from there, you can visit Fram, the strongest wooden ship ever built. It still holds the records for sailing farthest north and farthest south. Step on board the iconic ship at FRAM – The Polar Exploration Museum.

13. Year-round winter adventures

Just outside Oslo, in Lørenskog, is the world’s most spectacular indoor snow arena SNØ. PS: you can rent ski equipment there.

Holmenkollen Ski Museum & Tower is a blast for kids. It's got exhibits about polar explorers, the world’s largest collection of skis, and breathtaking views from the Holmenkollen ski jump. The ski simulator offers a thrilling virtual jump experience, but you can also fly down to the bottom of the hill on a zipline!
