Getting to Nesbyen

Nesbyen is beautifully situated in the mountain district between Oslo and Bergen and has good connections to and from both by bus and railway.

By car

Rv7 is the most common road to drive in order to get to Nesbyen.

From Oslo
Follow E16 to Hønefoss, then Rv7 towards Nesbyen.

From Southern Norway
Drive via Drammen and Vikersund, then follow Rv7 from Lake Krøderen.

From Bergen
Drive to Eidfjord, across Hardangervidda, via Geilo to Nesbyen on Rv7.
From Bergen, you can also drive via Voss, across the Hemsedal Mountains to Gol and from there further on to Nesbyen.

Other roads
From Kongsberg on fylkesvei (County Road) 40 through Nore og Uvdal via Tunhovd (all year). This is also a shortcut from Telemark via Rjukan and over Imingfjell Mountain (open during the summer months and during Easter).

Driving from Sigdal and Eggedal over Haglebufjellet Mountain in Numedal may be a good alternative for those coming via Kongsberg or from Southern Norway.

From Valdres, the road is open all year over the mountains from Sør-Aurdal (Hedalen and Bagn) to Nesbyen (this is a toll road).

By bus

The bus stop is located centrally by the Shell Petrol Station in the town centre, approximately 500 metres from the railway station. 

From the main bus station in Oslo you can go by Nettbuss to Nesbyen. Youtravel through a beautiful landscape, and you will see towns, small villages and farms on your way.

There are also local buses, please contact the tourist information in Nesbyenfor timetables. 

By train

Take the Bergen Railway from Oslo to Nesbyen, or the other way.
