  • The Michelin chef Kim Tore Sjøbakk, the owner and head chef at Experience@Bjerkem
    Steinkjer

    The Gourmet Restaurant "Experience"

The gourmet restaurant Experience – A Journey Through Taste and History At Bjerkem Farm in Henning, Steinkjer, you’ll find Experience – a unique gourmet restaurant offering an unforgettable evening of organic, locally sourced cuisine. The restaurant is housed in a former barn, beautifully transformed into a rustic yet atmospheric dining space and bar. Here, you will enjoy a 16-course tasting menu that evolves with the seasons, paired with carefully selected wine packages or non-alcoholic juice and cocktail pairings. Behind this concept is owner and head chef Kim Tore Sjøbakk, who brings invaluable experience from Michelin-starred restaurants in London. At Experience, you don’t just enjoy a meal – you embark on an experience for life. From the moment you arrive, you are transported 150 years back in time, to an era when food was grown and harvested for personal consumption. Kim’s philosophy is simple: the process of sourcing and gathering ingredients is just as important as the cooking itself – and deserves its own story. His goal is to give guests the true meaning of the word “experience”. Local Ingredients – The Flavours of Trøndelag Kim Tore uses organic and wild produce from Trøndelag, working closely with local farmers, fishermen, foragers, and hunters – as well as growing and foraging much himself. This ensures dishes of the highest quality, showcasing the very best the region has to offer. Some of our trusted suppliers include: Gullimunn – heritage grains such as Emmer wheat and Sweet Rye, grown on the farm and nearby. Trøndersopp – organic and wild mushrooms from Leksdal, just 15 minutes away. Bjørka – honey from Marie Vorum, who also helps source other local products. Kim personally handpicks many of the ingredients that later become exquisite dishes. An Unforgettable Culinary Evening We serve a 16-course tasting menu, carefully designed to provide a wealth of flavours without leaving you overfull. You can also choose from a range of drink pairings – with or without alcohol – tailored to complement each menu. The bar opens as guests arrive, and service begins at 7:30 PM, with dishes thoughtfully paced throughout the evening. Reservations Experience welcomes guests Wednesday - Saturday. Book your table her, via email: [email protected] or call: +47 94 08 13 99. Other days are available for private group bookings and larger groups by arrangement. Welcome to Experience – where every detail tells a story!

Welcome to Oppdal Skisenter! As one of Norway's largest ski resorts, Oppdal Skisenter stretches across four majestic mountains, offering an extensive skiing experience. The resort features 13 ski lifts and 35 diverse slopes, connected seamlessly via shuttle trails and the cross-lift (tverrheisen), allowing easy movement between different areas. Vangslia: Vangslia is the most frequented part of Oppdal Skisenter, known for being the first to open each season due to its reliable snowfall. This area is perfect for families and thrill-seekers alike. Vangslia has a dedicated children’s slope equipped with a conveyor lift, along with two chairlifts and two T-bar lifts serving eleven varied trails. Additionally, the terrain park here offers exciting jumps and obstacles, appealing to both young children and adventurous teens. The park usually opens around Christmas and evolves with new features as the season progresses. Vangslia's favorable location provides ample sunshine, often making it warmer than the lower valleys. This area is ideal for all skill levels, featuring slopes ranging from easy greens to challenging blacks. Vangslia is the natural starting point for a memorable day on the slopes. Stølen: Located just 3 kilometers north of Oppdal Sentrum, Stølen offers a blend of accessible and diverse skiing opportunities. The area is home to five well-maintained slopes and four lifts, including a popular children’s slope, making it a family-friendly destination. Stølen’s terrain is versatile, providing both groomed trails and extensive off-piste areas. The gentle slopes by the mountain lift are particularly enjoyable during northwestern weather, offering safe powder runs with minimal avalanche risk. Many skiers, both locals and visitors, have taken their first turns in Stølen's welcoming beginner slopes. Ådalen: Tucked between the other three main areas, Ådalen is a hidden gem for powder enthusiasts. After northwest storms, Ådalen becomes a paradise for freeriders, thanks to its abundant fresh snow. The Ådalsheisen lift services a well-groomed slope and a transport trail that loops back to the valley. The area is renowned for the "Ådalsfjeset," a legendary face that hosts freeriding competitions and is a favorite for experienced skiers. Another notable feature is the "student hang," a snowy bowl with large cornices, ideal for adventurous jumps. Ådalen’s varied terrain makes it a go-to spot for those seeking challenging off-piste runs. Hovden ("The Hill"): Hovden, prominently visible to the north of Oppdal Sentrum, is celebrated as one of Norway’s premier and steepest ski slopes. This area has a single chairlift serving a black run, known for its steep and demanding terrain. Hovden is a training ground for many of Norway’s top skiers, including legends like Aksel Lund Svindal and Erik Håker. On powder days, Hovden offers a thrilling mix of challenging off-piste areas and impeccably groomed racing slopes. The slope’s difficulty and reputation draw both freeriders and competitive skiers. Hovden typically opens later in the season, initially operating only on weekends until the main winter holidays. Come and explore the vast, varied slopes of Oppdal Skisenter. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned skier, there's something here for everyone. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery, the fresh mountain air, and the thrill of carving down these beautiful slopes.

    Etter skoletid

Welcome to After School After School is a safe and social program for children after the school day. The program is held every Thursday in line with the school schedule, and provides space for both physical activity and quiet activities in the company of others. Opening hours 1:45 p.m.–4:00 p.m. Registration All children who will participate must have purchased a ticket no later than 11:00 PM the day before the event. After this, registration closes, and it is not possible to register afterwards. This is important so that we can ensure enough adults and enough food for everyone. When the children arrive after school, they will be served a meal - cold or hot. There will also be fruit and vegetables available along the way. Activities will be arranged in the basic hall and the multi-purpose hall from approx. 2:00 p.m. for those who want physical play. There are no performance requirements - everyone participates on their own terms. For those who want quieter activities, there will be open table activities in the cafeteria area, such as games, drawing and puzzles. Important information Remember your workout clothes! Everyone who will be participating in activities in the base hall must bring training clothes. Dungarees are not allowed in the hall. There are changing facilities available with us. It is also smart to bring indoor shoes if you are going to play football in the multi-purpose hall. If you, as a guardian or other adult, would like to contribute, you can book a companion ticket – then we know you will be coming, and it helps us with planning. If you would like to volunteer as a permanent adult once or twice a month, we hope to hear from you. The offer is a collaboration between the Volunteer Center, Frøya congregation, Frøyahallen, the integration service and our faithful volunteers, who are there every time.
