Nordfjord welcomes you with a beautiful coastline, steep mountains, glaciers and white beaches. Here, nature is a theme park in itself, perfect for active outdoor enthusiasts.
In the Nordfjord area of Fjord Norway, tall peaks tower above the fjords and the ocean, with lots of waterfalls plunging down the mountainside. This is also where you’ll find Europe’s deepest lake, Hornindalsvatnet.
Jostedalsbreen National Park covers an area of 1,310 square kilometres and is home to Jostedalsbreen glacier, the largest glacier in mainland Europe. The landscape ranges from lush valleys to alpine mountains, and the core of the national park consists of an untouched landscape that can only be reached by foot.
The coastline in Nordfjord has a lot to offer as well. Visit the lighthouse Kråkenes fyr or take in the powerful nature surrounding the Vestkapp plateau. The area is known for its windy weather conditions, which you can take advantage of and go surfing!
If you like horseback riding, take in the scenery from the saddle on a fjord horse. For an unforgettable and airy experience, hike to Hornelen, the highest sea cliff in Europe. Or take the Loen Skylift and admire the view from Mount Hoven.
