Ål in Hallingdal

The small town of Ål is nestled among the the mountains at the north end of the Hallingdal valley in Eastern Norway. It's great for mountain biking, with some of the best trails in the country, as well as hiking in the mountains, sunbathing by mountain lakes. If you bring your fishing rod you can find a quiet spot to cast off, too.

Leveld village offers open-air art exhibitions all year round. While you’re here, you should also taste the pastries and cakes at Leveld Lefsebakeri, which serves tasty treats based on local culture and craftsmanship.

A little further up the mountains, you’ll find the Bergsjø area, where you can go cross-country skiing in winter and canoeing in summer.
